ABSTRACT:
Reforming Indian higher education is imperative to address challenges posed by rapid global changes. It is possible to re-evaluate and re-energize higher education through research and innovation. Research is indispensable in the present educational landscape as it serves as the foundation for the country’s development. The research work done by the researchers should be of high quality and useful, for which there exists a need to constantly motivate the researcher and provide a favourable environment. The aim of the study is to examine the achievement motivation of doctoral research scholars doing doctoral research programs in various universities located in Uttar Pradesh. A total of 120 respondents were selected through random sampling. The findings highlight the importance of fostering goal orientation to optimize researchers' abilities and enhance the quality of their research work.
