ABSTRACT:
Mulk Raj Arrand, because of his Marxist views and foous on content rather than on form, is believed to have neglected technique. This belief is baseless. In his very first novel, Untouchable,he revolutionized lndo-Anglian fiction by giving it a new subject and a new technique. In the subsequent fourteen novels, he has experimented with many techniques. Where form and content blend, he has produced works of great artistic value, such as Big Heart, Private Life of an Indian Prince, and Lalu trilogy; where they mismatch, as in The Road, Lament and sortie of the autobiographical novels, the aesthetic effect diminishes. On the whole his technical innovations have ensured his place as one of the pioneers of lndo-Anglianfiction.
