Abstract:
Empowerment is a wider concept engrossing economic, political and social
fields. Literacy and education is acknowledged as sine-qua-non for women
empowerment. Among many other things
which lead to women empowerment legal literacy and education have a prominent
place. Formal education can never be a substitute to legal education for a
simple reason that legal education enlightens an individual about his rights
and liabilities, the responsibility of the state and society and enables with
the knowledge of various avenues for justice.
