FEMALE FETICIDE: SOCIO-LEGAL CHALLENGES

Abstract: This paper opens with a brief historical outline of feticide and discusses about different types of illegal abortion involving female child. The paper underscores the prevalence of feticide in the present day society, with special reference to Indian scenario and discusses the role of family in the management of this evil menace. The paper also examines the socio-legal aspects of this heinous crime and ends up with a take home slogan, 'BETIAN  HAMARI JAAN."
